It is amazing how many business and services have started up over the last couple of years, making standing out from the crowd of many even harder.
But it doesn’t have to be!
In my journey as a virtual assistant, I have had the opportunity to assist many amazing entrepreneurs reach their goals and ultimately their dreams. To help you along the journey that 2020 holds for you – here are some tips I have learnt
Make your brand stand out!
Something that I have noticed, is that when people are starting out – professional design seems to take a back seat. They either don’t have the time or the budget for proper design.
If you don’t have a consistent look to your brand or a look that makes your products and services POP – you will disappear – this is a fact!
Have a clean and simple logo. Keep it square to fit all your social media profiles, and make sure it is legible. I cannot stress this enough! I know everyone loves those fancy handwritten fonts, but in the busy world of today – it can be difficult to read, especially on the small screen of a smart phone.
Take some time and set up templates, include brand colours and font choices – this will help set you up for design success when things get busy.
Make sure your Website speaks for you online
There is a fact of life that you need to come to grips with – people google when they want something. From how to boil an egg to where to buy the best shoes. When people find your website – what is it telling them?
A lot of people struggle when it comes to building or redesigning their site – because there are so many out there!
Start with your WHY? What is it that drove you to start your business? Why are you so passionate about your product/service? Once you have this written down on a piece of paper – stick it somewhere you can see it every day. When you are having one of those days when words don’t come easy – this will help you get started!
Once again – remember to keep the design in mind – keep fancy, handwritten fonts to a minimum and don’t overcrowd your webpages – keep it clean, keep it simple and remember to show them who you are!
These are just 2 of the many things you need to pay attention to. Remember even though you have great design and a wonderful website – you need to go out there and sell your products. You won’t be able to catch any fish, if you haven’t put any bait on the line!
